  • In February 2026, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.64% compared to the previous month (January), and increased by 0.19% after seasonal adjustment. It increased by 1.75% compared to the same month last year (2025). The average CPI for January to February rose by 1.23% compared to the same period last year. The Producer Price Index (PPI) in February rose by 0.74% compared to the previous month, but fell by 1.07% compared to the same month last year. The average PPI for January to February decreased by 1.33% compared to the same period last year.
  • In February 2026, the number of employed persons was 11,644,000, a decrease of 5,000 or 0.05% from the previous month. The number of unemployed persons was 400,000, an increase of 4,000 or 0.87% from the previous month. The labor force participation rate in February was 59.59%, down by 0.02 percentage points from the previous month. The unemployment rate in February was 3.32%, up by 0.03 percentage points from the previous month; the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.33%, a decrease of 0.03 percentage points from the previous month.
  • In January 2026, the average regular earnings of full-time domestic employees in the industrial and services sectors were NT$51,676, reflecting a monthly increase of 0.77% and an annual increase of 3.03%. Non-regular earnings, including bonuses and overtime pay, were NT$29,586, bringing the average total earnings to NT$81,262. Due to some companies distributing year-end and performance bonuses this month, total earnings saw a monthly increase of 22.44%. However, because the Lunar New Year fell in January last year (2025) but in February this year, companies concentrated their bonus distributions in January last year, whereas this year they were spread across January and February. As a result, total earnings saw an annual decrease of 31.27%. The median regular earnings were NT$41,010, up by 1.60% monthly and 2.83% annually.
